Class 4

You can’t use up creativity. The more you use the more you have.

We are a class of 27 children. Our teachers are  Mrs. Petherick-Moss and Mrs. Mascord. Our teaching assistants are Mrs Mallender (Mondays),  Miss Parker (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and Mrs. Licata (Thursdays and Fridays).  

We are an enthusiastic, hardworking and kind group of children. We are deepening our understanding of our individual role as a learner, being ready, positive and resilient.

We are always busy exploring, making, drawing, writing and reading. Our curriculum offers a wide range of opportunities to challenge ourselves and deepen our understanding of the world around us.  We are always very excited about visiting the library, and enjoy sharing a story with teachers, friends and family members. We are very discerning readers; the quality of books we read is very high and includes poetry, information books and our class newspapers.   

Parents are an essential element to our learning and we welcome their support. We have mystery readers, which are always such a surprise for their own child as well as the class! We also love to have help with all areas of our learning, such as reading, art, DT and science.

We are very lucky to have weekly chess lessons from the Chess Association and currently Future stars for PE. Swimming is taught at Backwell Sports Centre.

In class 4, we particularly looking forward to learning about the Vikings and Anglo Saxons, earthquakes and volcanoes, electricity and Leonardo Da Vinci to name but a few subjects. Our favourite subject so far is writing and our teachers say that we are amazing authors!  

Trips in our class include an overnight residential at Mendip Outdoor Pursuits in March which we are really excited about.

We are so proud of our class, and everyone in it. 

Recent activities.

As a school, we all contribute towards our church celebration as well as all children helping to prepare for a Harvest lunch…delicious!

Together, everyone achieves more.
