Wrington Primary School

Class 6

Welcome to Year 6!

Our teacher is Miss Matthews and our teaching assistants are Mrs Wilson, Mrs Miles and Miss Serjeant. Other adults that teach their subject specialisms in Year 6 are; Mrs John (RE, DT), and Mrs Clough (Music) and Mrs Whitehouse (Science). We have 29 children in our class, 17 boys and 12 girls.

We are excited about tackling the new and exciting challenges that we will encounter this year and we will be preparing for our transition to Secondary School. We will endeavour to be the best that we can be.

Lots of fun learning takes place in Year 6, starting with our residential visit to Beam House PGL Activity Centre - which takes place in September. This is a wonderful opportunity to help us learn cooperation skills, teamwork and responsibility. We take part in a range of activities such as; abseiling, climbing, surfing, high ropes, zip wire, survivor and challenge course.

In Year 6 we go on lots of excursions, including a trip to London Parliament, Farm Link Kitchen, Bristol, Wells Cathedral and Paignton Zoo and Torquay for a fish and chip supper.

There are many opportunities for Year 6 children to represent the school, take part in sport activities and lead in services at school and in Church. At the end of the year we have our Year 6 production and everyone has an important role from acting on stage to creating props and organising staging.

Be the best that you can be.
